In society, “LBD” is an acronym for Little Black Dress…but in Sapph-ciety it stands for “Lesbian Bed Death”–the dreaded decline of sex after the novelty fades. Speaking of novelties, in the film That’s Not Us (2015), when Alison (Sarah Wharton) shows longtime lesbian lover Jackie–played by busty brunette Nicole Pursell–the multil-colored “rainbow dong” dildo they used to use, Nic’s character complains, “It has a head, oh my God! I can’t even touch it–not anymore.” Eventually, she’s able to touch her girlfriend–who fingerbangs her furburgerage in the shower–as LBD comes to mean “Lesbian Bathroom Debauchery!” Shot in just 8 days, the dialogue is all improvised–and the Sapphic sex Skintense! As the film’s co-producer, HuffPost Women columnist Sarah Wharton got to pick her partner for the girl-girl groping…and named Nicole, a graduate of NYU’s Experimental Theater Wing in 2009, whose first screen credit came the year before as “Lesbian on Street” in Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist (2008). “I had a great time,” Sarah says of her scene with Pursell. “I think sex is awesome when I trust my partner and we’re in a good place [more power to the shower!]. I was in a situation where I completely trusted Nicole [even though she was using Muhammad Ali’s “Soap-a-Grope” ploy], who is gorgeous and an amazing woman [with amazing areolae!] It’s hard not to fall in love with her!” Concludes Pursell’s playmate: “It felt like this fun opportunity, and an expression of myself because that shower sex scene was a very nice moment.” Lather, rinse, and repeat.
